Immersion farms introduce a third cable path that air-cooled rows rarely deal with: coolant supply and return lines that must cross the same corridor as PDU feeds.

The Typical Mistake

Installers mount the power tray at tank mid-height because it is convenient for plugging in miners submerged at that level. Coolant return lines run along the same rail, and vibration from the pump slowly abrades power cable jackets.

Separation Distance

We recommend a minimum 10 cm vertical separation between coolant lines and power trays, with power mounted above return lines so any condensation drips away from outlets. If space is tight, use a partitioned tray rather than sharing an open channel.

Inspection Access

Immersion tanks need quarterly cable inspection at the tank lip where leads enter the fluid. Layout plans should leave 30 cm clear space on the maintenance side of each tank for a technician to reach every entry point without removing adjacent tank panels.

These notes apply to tanks running hardware at 0.05 TH/s per unit and above, where power draw per cable justifies the inspection schedule. Lower-power test tanks can use simpler routing but should still follow separation rules to build good habits before scaling up.
