Why Layout Comes Before Hardware

Most farms we visit chose their miner model first and discovered cable conflicts later. Our layout planning process reverses that order: we map the physical constraints of your space — tray mounting points, PDU positions, aisle widths, cooling duct paths — then evaluate which hardware fits without forcing cable compromises.

The Three-Layer Method

Layer 1: Power Path

We trace every circuit from the main panel to the rack PDU. This includes measuring available breaker capacity, noting shared neutral configurations, and identifying where vertical trays can attach without drilling into structural members.

Layer 2: Data Path

Network cables share tray space with power in many farms, which works only when separated by partition or mounted at different heights. We map switch positions and patch panel locations relative to miner ethernet ports, accounting for the stock cable length each model provides.

Layer 3: Thermal Path

Cable trays that block intake or exhaust lanes create hot spots unrelated to miner hash rate. We overlay airflow direction on the tray map and flag crossings where coolant lines, power feeds, and data runs compete for the same corridor.

A completed layout plan includes:

  • Scale drawing of rack positions with tray and PDU placement
  • Bill of materials for trays, labels, and any custom cable lengths
  • Sequenced installation steps to minimize downtime during remediation
  • Compatibility notes for hardware at 0.05 TH/s and above

Typical Timeline
